The SAM (Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module) is the central body control unit for these Mercedes-Benz models. It functions as the main fuse and relay board for the vehicle body circuits — managing signal routing and power distribution for exterior lighting, windscreen wipers, horn, electric windows and numerous other chassis and comfort functions. The SAM communicates with the instrument cluster, engine ECU and body control systems over the CAN bus and protects circuits via integrated fuses and relays.
