This is the complete steering column switch assembly comprising the indicator and wiper stalks, cruise control or speed limiter switch stalk, horn contact plate, and the clock spring (spiral cable / squib unit). The clock spring is a flat wound ribbon conductor that maintains unbroken electrical continuity between the rotating steering wheel and the fixed wiring harness — carrying the driver airbag pyrotechnic circuit, horn circuit and all steering wheel-mounted control signals (audio, phone, cruise, paddle shifters). All steering column switch functions and the airbag squib circuit route through this assembly.
