The electronic gear selector (AGSD) replaces the traditional mechanical gear lever in these Mercedes-Benz models. It sends electronic Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive commands to the transmission control module via the CAN bus. The selector also incorporates manual sequential shifting (+/−), and may integrate Sport, Economy and Winter programme selections depending on model variant. The module communicates with the instrument cluster to update the gear position display.
Transmission not responding to gear selection, gearbox remaining in Park with no selector response, P/R/N/D position display on the instrument cluster not updating, fault codes logged for the gear selector or AGSD module in the transmission or body ECU.
Good used condition. Verify OEM number and vehicle specification before ordering — gear selector variants differ between model years and gearbox types. Professional installation is required. Coding to the vehicle via Star Diagnosis may be necessary. 14-day returns on unmodified parts.
