This ECU co-ordinates the fundamental functions of the petrol engine management system, including sequential fuel injection, ignition timing, idle speed control via the bypass air valve, and warm-up enrichment during cold starts. It interprets signals from the engine’s sensor array to maintain smooth, efficient combustion across all load conditions.
Drivers experiencing rough or unstable idle, poor throttle response, intermittent misfires at higher revs, or repeated unexplained engine warning lights may find the root cause is a failing ECU. These symptoms can also include difficulty achieving emissions compliance, or the engine cutting out at junctions without prior warning.
This unit has been removed from a written-off Audi and tested against the 030906026A OEM specification before despatch.
