This antenna base is mounted on the roof of the E81 and E87 and provides the connection point for the radio antenna mast or whip, passing the received AM and FM radio signal to the head unit for broadcast reception.
Damage or failure of the antenna base causes degraded FM or AM radio reception, intermittent signal loss, or a complete absence of radio reception if the internal connection within the base has failed while the antenna mast itself remains intact.
