The cruise control switch (speed control stalk) provides the driver interface for the cruise control and variable speed limiter system. Mounted on the steering column, it sends SET, RESUME, COAST, ACCELERATE and CANCEL signals to the engine management or dedicated cruise control module, enabling hands-free constant speed maintenance on motorways and programmable speed limiting.
Cruise control failing to engage or hold set speed, RESUME function not working after braking, inability to adjust speed with the stalk, cruise unexpectedly dropping out, or stored fault codes for the speed control switch in the engine management or body ECU.
