This EIS / EZS electronic ignition switch module for the W220 and C215 provides electronic key recognition, ignition circuit switching and engine start authorisation, working in conjunction with the vehicle immobiliser and body control electronics to enable correct electrical system and engine operation on the S-Class and CL.
A defective EIS / EZS module on the W220 or C215 can cause a no-start condition, prevent the ignition circuits from activating, or generate EIS communication faults in the diagnostic system that persist until the module is replaced and correctly synchronised to the vehicle.
