The CCM manages the E46’s comfort and convenience systems from a single control unit. It governs central locking for all doors and the boot, provides one-touch operation of the electric windows, enables comfort-close and comfort-open functions via the remote key, controls interior and courtesy lighting, illuminates the boot, and handles infrared remote key reception. On suitably equipped vehicles it also controls the electric folding mirrors.
Failure of the CCM commonly presents as doors that won’t lock or unlock remotely, electric windows that lose their one-touch function, interior lights that behave erratically, comfort-close that stops working, and remote key functions that become unreliable or completely unresponsive.
