Part number 6943062. A genuine used [[BMW]] Karosserie-Basismodul (KBM) Comfort Module for the E60 5 Series Saloon (2003–2010) and E61 5 Series Touring (2004–2010). Each unit is removed from a tested donor vehicle and inspected before despatch. ¶ The KBM co-ordinates central locking, one-touch electric window operation, interior lighting control, and heated seat management across the E60 and E61 platform. It serves as the body bus co-ordinator, communicating with door modules and comfort systems over the K-CAN network. ¶ Typical failure symptoms include remote central locking becoming unreliable or inoperative, windows losing one-touch and auto-close operation, interior lighting behaving erratically, and disrupted heated seat co-ordination. ¶ Verify the OEM part number against your vehicle before ordering. Professional installation is required. VIN-specific coding via BMW ISTA diagnostic software must be performed after fitting — this module will not function correctly without programming and is not suitable for DIY installation.
