Description

This listing is for OEM part number 3C9953513C, a genuine used complete steering column switch assembly from the Volkswagen Passat B6. The assembly has been removed from a donor vehicle, tested, and is ready to fit. It includes the indicator and wiper stalks, the cruise control stalk, and the clock spring (spiral cable unit) complete as a single assembly.

This is the complete steering column switch assembly comprising the indicator and wiper stalks, cruise control or speed limiter switch stalk, horn contact plate, and the clock spring (spiral cable / squib unit). The clock spring is a flat wound ribbon conductor that maintains unbroken electrical continuity between the rotating steering wheel and the fixed wiring harness — carrying the driver airbag pyrotechnic circuit, horn circuit and all steering wheel-mounted control signals (audio, phone, cruise, paddle shifters). All steering column switch functions and the airbag squib circuit route through this assembly.

Driver airbag or SRS warning light on the dashboard — this is the most critical symptom as a broken clock spring can disable the driver airbag; horn completely non-functional; direction indicator or wiper stalks unresponsive; all steering wheel-mounted controls (audio, phone, cruise) failing to operate; SRS fault codes pointing to the spiral cable or clock spring unit stored in the airbag ECU.

Safety-critical assembly. Professional installation is essential — the airbag circuit is routed through the clock spring, and incorrect fitting can prevent the driver airbag from deploying. SRS fault codes must be cleared by a qualified technician with appropriate diagnostic equipment after fitting. Verify OEM number and vehicle specification before ordering. 14-day returns accepted on unmodified parts.

Warranty & Returns

Returns accepted only for genuine faults — faulty on arrival, not as described, or wrong part supplied — requested within 14 days, with all 3 anti-tamper stickers intact. No returns for change of mind, incorrect installation, coding/programming, or buyer compatibility errors; checking compatibility (OEM number, firmware, vehicle) is the buyer’s responsibility.
