Part number 6943759. A genuine used BMW CAS2 (Car Access System 2) module for the E87 1 Series and early-production E90 3 Series (2002–2005). This second-generation Car Access System is sourced from a tested donor vehicle and inspected before despatch. ¶ The CAS2 manages vehicle immobilisation and key transponder authentication, authorising engine starts by communicating the Individual Serial Number (ISN) with the engine ECU. It co-ordinates remote central locking and key learning, forming a core part of the security architecture on BMW E87 and early E90 platforms. ¶ Failure symptoms include the engine failing to start or intermittently starting before cutting out, the vehicle not recognising programmed keys, inoperative remote central locking, and immobiliser or Car Access System fault messages appearing in the instrument cluster. ¶ Confirm the OEM part number matches your vehicle before ordering.
