This LED indicator unit is integrated into the right exterior wing mirror of the Golf VII and Touran 5T, activating in sequence with the right indicator circuit to provide a visible lateral turn signal to other road users from the mirror position, supplementing the standard front and rear indicators.
Failure of the LED indicator in the right mirror causes that mirror turn signal to remain dark during right indicator operation, which may be noticed by other drivers and may illuminate a bulb failure warning on the instrument cluster.
