This Harman amplifier is fitted in the boot of the A4 Avant and provides the power amplification for the factory sound system, driving the loudspeakers with the processed audio signal from the head unit to deliver the manufacturer-specified audio output and sound quality.
Failure of this amplifier causes a noticeable reduction in audio output volume, distorted or absent sound from some or all speakers, or a complete loss of audio from the factory sound system while the head unit display and controls continue to function.
