The SAM (Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module) is the central body control and power distribution unit. It houses the main fuse and relay array for front or rear body circuits, manages signal routing for exterior lighting, windscreen wipers, horn, power windows and numerous auxiliary body functions. The SAM communicates with the instrument cluster, engine management and body control systems over the CAN bus, protecting each circuit through its integrated fuse matrix.
Multiple body electrical functions failing at the same time — exterior lights, wipers, electric windows or horn unresponsive; fuses blowing and immediately re-blowing; fault codes stored under the front or rear SAM address in the body electronics; loss of diagnostic communication with the SAM; or multiple warning lamps appearing on the instrument cluster together.
