This switch panel installed in the centre console of the listed E-series models provides the dedicated button to deactivate the auto start-stop system, allowing the driver to prevent the engine from shutting off automatically at idle when this function is not desired for a given journey or driving style.
Failure of this panel causes the auto start-stop deactivation button to become non-functional, leaving the driver unable to manually disable the system from the console while the start-stop function itself continues to operate in its default state.
