This panel is the front driver interface for the automatic climate control system on the BMW F-series platform, providing push-button and rotary controls for dual-zone temperature, fan speed, air distribution, and seat heating, with all inputs communicated to the IHKA climate module over the vehicle CAN bus.
A failing panel may cause climate buttons or dials to become unresponsive, display or illumination defects on the panel, the climate system to default to a fixed output, or a stored IHKA fault code pointing to the front climate panel.
