The actuator drives the air distribution flap inside the heater and ventilation assembly, routing conditioned air between the selected delivery channels — face-level outlets in the dash, footwell grilles at floor level, or the defroster duct at the base of the windscreen.
Common signs of failure include the inability to switch ventilation zones regardless of control position, a repetitive mechanical noise from within the dashboard, and climate control self-diagnosis storing a motor fault code.
