OEM part number 6916406. This is a genuine used BMW PDC control module (parking sensor ECU) for the E38 7 Series, E46 3 Series and E39 5 Series. Each unit is tested before listing and despatched in good used condition.
This PDC control module acts as the brain of the parking distance warning system. Connected to each bumper-mounted ultrasonic sensor, it generates the measurement pulses and evaluates the reflected echoes to determine how close the vehicle is to an obstacle. The results drive escalating audible alert tones and, on suitably equipped models, a graphical proximity display in the instrument cluster or iDrive system. Data exchange with the body electronics and cluster occurs via the CAN bus network.
Parking sensor system completely silent when reverse gear is selected or when the front sensors are activated, audible warning tones absent during close-proximity manoeuvring, a constant unwanted beeping when no obstacle is present, a PDC warning message or amber alert symbol appearing on the instrument cluster, or one or more sensor positions appearing unresponsive while the others function correctly.
The module is supplied in good used condition. Please confirm the OEM part number matches your exact vehicle configuration before purchasing — PDC control modules are vehicle-specific and multiple variants exist across the model range. Fitting by a qualified technician is strongly advised. On most applications, coding to the vehicle VIN via BMW ISTA is required following installation; a module that has not been coded may fail to activate or generate continuous stored fault codes.
