This oil filler cap seals the engine oil filler port on the valve cover across a wide range of BMW models including the E30, E36, E46, E39, E60, E87, E90 and E53, preventing oil loss, contamination ingress and crankcase pressure leakage while providing a secure and accessible closure for routine oil top-up.
A cracked, damaged or missing oil cap can allow oil vapour and contaminants into the engine bay, cause oil loss during driving, and may trigger engine oil pressure warnings if oil level drops significantly.
