The LCM is responsible for switching dipped and main beam headlights, front fog lights, and parking lights, and for controlling interior lighting dimming and instrument cluster illumination. On xenon-fitted vehicles it additionally manages automatic headlight levelling. Communication is via the K-CAN bus.
A defective LCM typically causes headlights to switch on or off incorrectly, main beam to fail to activate, interior lights to behave erratically, and xenon headlight levelling faults on equipped vehicles.
