This BMW EWS 3 immobilizer control module is a genuine OEM security component for BMW E39, E46 and Z3 models. Primary OEM number 8382454. It is designed to read the key transponder, validate the key code against the stored data and clear the engine control unit to run, so that the engine can only be started by a correctly coded original key. It works together with the ignition lock and the engine management of the same car.
