The LCM III manages dipped and main beam headlights, front fog lights, parking and side marker lights, interior lighting dimming, and instrument cluster illumination. It communicates with other vehicle systems via the K-CAN bus, co-ordinating all exterior and interior lighting functions across the vehicle.
Common failure symptoms include headlights that fail to switch on or off correctly, main beam that refuses to activate, interior lights that malfunction, instrument cluster dimming that becomes unresponsive, and general exterior lighting irregularities.
