Description
OEM part number 9186170-01, this is a genuine used, tested BMW E60/E61 KGM (Karosserie-Gateway-Modul) for the 5 Series E60 saloon and E61 Touring (2003–2010).
The KGM serves as the central gateway and body management module, bridging the body CAN bus with the powertrain CAN bus networks. It controls exterior lighting switching, central locking, electric window co-ordination, and interior lighting management.
Typical failure symptoms include body electrical faults, exterior lighting not responding, window and central locking errors, and CAN bus communication faults. A failing KGM may trigger multiple fault codes across different control units.
Confirm the OEM number matches your vehicle before ordering. Professional installation is required. VIN-specific coding via BMW ISTA diagnostic software is necessary after fitting. Returns accepted within 14 days.
Returns accepted only for genuine faults — faulty on arrival, not as described, or wrong part supplied — requested within 14 days, with all 3 anti-tamper stickers intact. No returns for change of mind, incorrect installation, coding/programming, or buyer compatibility errors; checking compatibility (OEM number, firmware, vehicle) is the buyer’s responsibility.
