This EIS / EZS module for the W202, W208 and W210 provides electronic key recognition, ignition circuit control and engine start authorisation, working together with the vehicle immobiliser and body control electronics to allow correct electrical system and engine operation across the C-Class, CLK and E-Class.
Defective EIS / EZS units on the W202, W208 or W210 cause no-start conditions, loss of ignition circuit activation, or persistent EIS faults in the diagnostic system that can only be resolved by replacing and correctly synchronising the module.
