The actuator moves the distribution flap inside the ventilation assembly, switching the path of heated or cooled air between the dash-level outlets, the footwell ports, and the windscreen defroster channel in response to the selected climate setting.
Signs of wear include the ventilation direction becoming unresponsive to input changes, a repetitive clicking or buzzing originating from the dashboard area, and the climate control system logging a distribution flap motor fault.
