This oil filler cap seals the valve cover oil filler port across a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models including the Golf, Jetta, Passat, Audi 80, A3 and A4, preventing oil vapour loss, crankcase pressure leakage at the filler port and contamination ingress during routine oil top-up.
A cracked, leaking or missing oil filler cap can allow oil vapour into the engine bay, cause an oily residue around the filler neck, and may result in minor oil loss if the engine is run without the cap in place.
