The ABS/ESP control module is the central processor for the W168 A-Class braking stability system. ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) uses yaw rate and lateral acceleration data to detect handling instability and corrects the vehicle’s trajectory by applying selective braking to individual wheels. HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) detects emergency braking intent from pedal application speed and rapidly boosts hydraulic pressure to the braking circuit, shortening stopping distances in critical situations.
