OEM part number 8363547. This is a genuine used BMW PDC control module (parking sensor ECU) for the E39 5 Series. Units are tested before listing and despatched in good used condition.
This PDC control module acts as the brain of the parking distance warning system. Connected to each bumper-mounted ultrasonic sensor, it generates the measurement pulses and evaluates the reflected echoes to determine how close the vehicle is to an obstacle. The results drive escalating audible alert tones and, on suitably equipped models, a graphical proximity display in the instrument cluster or iDrive system. Data exchange with the body electronics and cluster occurs via the CAN bus network.
Signs that this module has failed include the parking distance system producing no sound when reverse gear is engaged or front sensors are switched on, missing alert tones during close manoeuvring, an unsolicited continuous beep, a PDC warning or fault indicator lit in the cluster, or isolated sensor positions becoming unresponsive while the rest of the system continues to function.
This module is supplied in good used condition. Always verify the OEM part number against your exact vehicle and specification before ordering — PDC modules are VIN-specific on most applications. Professional installation is recommended. Coding to the vehicle VIN using BMW ISTA diagnostic software is required after fitting on the majority of applications; without coding the system may not activate or may log persistent fault codes. 14-day returns are accepted on unmodified parts.
