The ABS module continuously monitors all four wheel speed sensors, detecting any wheel approaching lock-up during heavy braking. It signals the hydraulic control unit to modulate brake pressure at the affected corner, preventing lock-up and maintaining steering control. ASC (Automatic Stability Control) extends ABS by preventing wheel spin under acceleration via engine torque reduction and selective braking. The ES (Electronic Stability) variant adds yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensing to detect and correct oversteer and understeer by applying individual wheel braking.
