This BMW DWA alarm inclination tilt sensor is a genuine OEM anti-theft component for BMW E46 and E39 models. Primary OEM number 6923215. It is designed to monitor the angle of the vehicle while the alarm is armed and to report any sudden change of position to the DWA alarm system, so that attempts to lift, tilt or tow the car away are detected immediately. It works together with the other sensors and the control unit of the same alarm system.
Its job is to measure the inclination of the car body and signal the alarm control unit when the angle changes beyond the preset limit, for example when a wheel is stolen with a jack or the car is loaded onto a tow truck.
