It authenticates key transponders, co-ordinates engine start authorisation through ISN communication with the engine ECU, and manages remote central locking and key learning on these [[BMW]] platforms. ¶ Failure symptoms include the engine refusing to start, the vehicle failing to recognise programmed keys, inoperative remote central locking, and immobiliser or Car Access System warning messages in the instrument cluster.
