This oil filler cap threads onto the valve cover oil filler port across the W203, W204, W205, W211 and W212, forming a secure seal that prevents oil vapour from escaping at the filler opening and blocks contamination from entering the oil system during and between scheduled service intervals.
A cracked, broken or improperly seated oil filler cap can cause oil vapour to enter the engine bay, leave an oily deposit around the valve cover filler area, and may contribute to minor oil loss during operation if the crankcase is not properly sealed at the filler port.
