This mirror adjustment motor powers the horizontal and vertical positioning mechanism of the exterior wing mirrors across the W203, W209, W210, W211, W163, W164 and W251, moving the mirror glass to the driver’s selected position via the adjustment mechanism in response to switch commands from the mirror control module.
Failure of this motor causes the affected wing mirror to stop responding to electrical adjustment inputs, leaving the glass fixed in its last position and requiring manual repositioning until the motor unit is replaced.
