This LPG ECU manages the alternative fuel side of the vehicle’s propulsion system. It controls gas injector timing and pulse duration for sequential LPG injection, governs the automatic switchover between petrol and gas modes, monitors gas rail pressure, and communicates with the vehicle’s original engine ECU to synchronise fuelling strategy on both fuels.
A failing BRC LPG ECU may prevent the system from switching to gas mode, cause the vehicle to remain permanently on petrol, produce poor gas consumption figures, trigger gas system fault codes, or result in rough running on LPG. The gas warning indicator may illuminate and the system may cut out unexpectedly.
