The actuator moves the internal flap that governs where climate-treated air is delivered inside the cabin, selecting between face-level outlets, footwell ports, and the windscreen defroster circuit in response to the selected climate mode.
Failure of this component is typically noticed as the climate system becoming unable to switch delivery zones, irregular clicking or humming from near the dashboard, and automatic climate control losing accurate vent management.
