This BMW central locking module is a genuine OEM body electronics component for BMW E38 and E39 models. Primary OEM number 1387961. It is designed to control the central locking system, known in BMW terminology as ZV (Zentralverriegelung), by managing the lock and unlock signals that are sent to the door, trunk and fuel filler flap actuators throughout the vehicle.
Its job is to receive lock and unlock commands from the key, the door lock switches and the interior controls, process them and drive the actuator motors in every door, the trunk lid and the fuel filler flap. It also supports the double lock and anti-theft functions where fitted.
