Each unit is sourced from a tested donor vehicle and inspected before despatch. ¶ The CAS2 is the second-generation Car Access System, functioning as the immobiliser and access control unit for the vehicle. It authenticates key transponders, co-ordinates engine start authorisation through ISN communication with the engine ECU, and manages remote central locking and key learning on these [[BMW]] platforms. ¶ Failure symptoms include the engine refusing to start, the vehicle failing to recognise programmed keys, inoperative remote central locking, and immobiliser or Car Access System warning messages in the instrument cluster. In some cases the vehicle may start intermittently before failing entirely. ¶ Confirm the OEM part number matches your vehicle before ordering. Professional installation is required.
