This BMW Glow Plug Control Module is a genuine OEM diesel engine electronics component for the BMW E90, E92 and E93 320d diesel models. Primary OEM number 7798000. It is designed to control the glow plugs during cold starts, switching and monitoring the high current that heats the combustion chambers of a diesel engine.
Its job is to switch the glow plug supply at the right time and for the right duration, so that the engine can start cleanly and run smoothly while it is still cold. It communicates with the engine control unit and regulates the preheating and post-glow phases. A properly working glow plug control module supports reliable cold starting, lower start-up smoke and emissions and correct operation of the glow plug system.
