Description
This BMW DWA alarm direction sensor is a genuine OEM electronic component for BMW E36, E39 and Z3 vehicles. Primary OEM number 8367604. It is designed to detect changes in the position and inclination of the car, for example when it is lifted, tilted or towed, and to report these changes to the DWA anti-theft alarm system so that an alarm can be triggered. It is a small sensor unit that is part of the factory anti-theft equipment of these models.
Its job is to monitor the attitude of the vehicle while it is parked and armed, and to send a signal to the alarm control unit when the position changes without the key. A properly working direction sensor supports reliable theft and tow-away protection, avoids false alarms on level ground and supports correct operation of the whole alarm system of the car, including the horn, the hazard lights and the alarm indicator.
Common signs of a faulty unit include false alarms without any reason, an alarm that does not react when the car is lifted, alarm system warnings or fault entries, and an alarm that cannot be armed correctly. When the sensor fails, the DWA system may trigger at random, may stay silent during a real attempt to tow the vehicle or may drain the battery by repeated alarm cycles, which is annoying and can leave the car without protection.
This is a used original part, removed from a vehicle and tested before sale. Match the exact OEM number 8367604 before ordering. Professional installation is recommended, and coding or adaptation of the alarm system may be required where applicable.
Returns accepted only for genuine faults — faulty on arrival, not as described, or wrong part supplied — requested within 14 days, with all 3 anti-tamper stickers intact. No returns for change of mind, incorrect installation, coding/programming, or buyer compatibility errors; checking compatibility (OEM number, firmware, vehicle) is the buyer’s responsibility.
