0285454032 Mercedes Smart Glow Plug Relay – OEM Used & Tested

Описание

This Mercedes Smart glow plug relay is a genuine OEM electrical component for Mercedes Smart diesel vehicles. Primary OEM number 0285454032. It is designed to switch the high current needed by the glow plugs of the diesel engine, so that the combustion chambers are preheated quickly and the engine starts reliably, even in cold weather. It is a heavy duty relay that is part of the preheating circuit of the engine.

Its job is to connect the battery supply to the glow plugs when the preheating is requested and to disconnect it again when the preheating time is over. A properly working glow plug relay supports fast and reliable cold starting, correct preheating time, lower emissions during warm-up and correct operation of the whole glow plug system of the diesel engine. It also keeps the high glow plug current away from the control electronics.

Common signs of a faulty unit include hard starting or no starting in cold weather, white smoke after the start, a glow plug warning light that stays on or does not light, a relay that clicks but does not switch and burnt or melted contacts. When the relay fails, the glow plugs may not heat at all or may stay on too long, and the engine may run roughly until it warms up. In many older diesel cars this relay is a typical wear part because of the high current it switches.

This is a used original part, removed from a vehicle and tested before sale. Match the exact OEM number 0285454032 before ordering. Professional installation is recommended, and adaptation to the vehicle may be required where applicable.
